Just in case you are mystified by the transformer...
Not to worry! It's just plug and play. Just be sure to plug
the duplex adapter that comes with the kit into the WALL jack and NOT
into the back of the phone. Just follow the following steps:
1. plug transformer into AC power
2. plug the duplex jack into the baseboard telephone outlet (NOT
into back of phone)
3. plug cord from the transformer into duplex jack
4. plug cord between back of telephone and other port in
duplex.
The telephone cord supplied has 4 wires in it. All 4
are required:
the inner pair for the telephone circuit and the outer pair for
the light bulb circuit. Do not substitute any other cord for the
one provided unless you are certain it is a 4-conductor cord.
Should the light fail to work after you have hooked
it up
properly, please pop the bulb out with a penny, reseat the bulb,
and try again. If it still fails, get out a magnifying glass and
check the filament: if it's broken then you need a replacement
(I have them on hand).
